What is VEXP ?
Virtual interactive experiments (vexp) is a framework to promote the development and use of
cooperative e-learning experiments over the internet. Interactive scientific experiments which can be controlled
by various users synchronously. With virtual experiments scientists and students can investigate behaviors of
complex processes, which are hidden or difficult to observe in real world observations. Students can build virtual
collaborations - so called learning-groups - with other students, experts or tutors, which are working interactively
on the same experiment. Every member in a learning group can observe instantaneously activities of other members.

Virtual Experiment Architecture
The view of the virtual experiment architecture is shown in figure below.
It depicts the relationship between the main components of the framework, which
is subdivided into a experiment layer and a communication layer. All experiment specific
tasks are implemented as a model in the top layer. The communication and controll of the
experiment is located in the second layer.
